There was a feminine softness and tears in her eyes as she talked of her older sister . . .

“Ruby worked as hard as any man on that damn farm in the hills of Southeastern, Kentucky. In fact, Ruby worked like a man all her life in those back hills. She was like a mother to me . . . “
